Casey is a nonfiction writer whose work has been featured numerous times on Matador Travel Network and twice recognized as a finalist in Women on Writing’s creative nonfiction essay contest.
She built a dedicated following while living abroad, sharing her adventures through Words of a Wanderer, a travel blog she ran for six years. She now writes on Substack and is deep into her first memoir about walking the Camino de Santiago.
Born with insatiable wanderlust, Casey finds pure joy in discovering cozy coffee shops in new cities. She currently lives in Colorado but is always scheming about the next place she’ll call home.

Globetrotter: I’ve been traveling and exploring new countries since my teens!
Zen Guide: I love leading soft & slow yoga classes and guided meditations — helping others find a sense of calm and presence. With a yoga teacher certification and a master’s degree in Mindfulness for Educators, I’ve worked as the in-house yoga teacher at hostels around the world and brought mindfulness and meditation into the international schools where I taught.
Traveling Teacher: My career as an educator knew no borders — I’ve spent summers volunteered in one-room schools in the slums of India and Haiti, and I taught in some of the wealthiest international schools in Thailand, Egypt, and Mexico.
Bollywood Moment: When I studied abroad in India in 2010, I ended up on TV show called Be a Star!
Certified Swiftie: I happily attended the Eras Tour in Zurich in 2024.
I Do: I’m an ordained minister, and I’m thrilled to be officiating a wedding for dear friends later this year.
Healing Journey: I participated in Path of Love (an intensive trauma healing retreat) in 2023, and it was so transformative that I regularly return to staff.
Bangkok Love Affair: I lived in Bangkok, Thailand for 5 years, and it will always be one of my favorite cities!
Sorority & Step Team: In university, I was Vice President of a Latina/multicultural sorority and a member of our national step team!
Camino Magic: I fell in love with Spain while walking the Camino de Santiago in the spring of 2022. I’m always dreaming about returning!
